PRESS RELEASE
MARCH 26, 2025

The Danish Motorcycle Museum in Stubbekøbing is kicking off an exciting new season on Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2025. Visitors can look forward to three brand-new special exhibitions celebrating both the technological evolution of motorcycles and major anniversaries.

As tradition holds, the season opening will be marked by a group ride starting from “Cementen” in Nykøbing Falster at 10:00 AM. Several hundred motorcycles are expected to hit the Danish country roads, heading toward Denmark’s Motorcycle Museum in 4850 Stubbekøbing. On this special day, admission is only 30 DKK.

Chairman Søren Groth Therkelsen is eagerly anticipating the opening day and the new season, which promises many fresh experiences for museum guests.

Three Unique Exhibitions in 2025

A unique collection of rare and spectacular motorcycles will amaze both enthusiasts and curious visitors. Highlights include a Polini mini motorcycle, an electric drag racer, a jet-powered motorcycle, and a BMW racing bike – all showcasing creativity and engineering brilliance in the motorcycle world.

In 2025, it’s 115 years since BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company) launched their first motorcycle. The museum is celebrating with a special exhibition dedicated to BSA’s history, its iconic models, and its influence on the motorcycle industry.

The third major exhibition of the season highlights the centennials of Bang & Olufsen and Denmark’s national broadcaster, Danmarks Radio. This exhibition explores B&O’s impact on sound and communication technology, and DR’s significant role in Danish cultural and media history.

More Exciting Additions in 2025

In addition to the three headline exhibitions, the museum also presents several exciting new features:

  • De Dion Bouton Tricycle from 1896 – A rare and historic motorized tricycle offering a unique glimpse into the earliest days of motorcycle development.

  • “Millionaires’ Corner” – A brand-new section showcasing exclusive and highly sought-after American vintage motorcycles.

  • New Engine Display Room – For the technically curious, a new department now allows up-close study of motorcycle engines – the true hearts of the machines.

And much, much more is waiting to be discovered!
